OCTOBER 2, 2005 - MIDDLEBORO, MA –  The temperture was seasonably warm, a great New England October day, a great day for Formula GX combat. The Wingbuster club field was, as usual, in great shape. Nine New England pilots were in attendance and ready for action.

Round one saw everyone get off to poor starts with Jeff Vader leading the pack with 520 points. In round two Jeff posted a second decent score when he flew Norm Liversidge to a one cut apiece draw. Meanwhile, Ken Hargreaves got a one cut win over Rick Clark to gain a share of the lead at the halfway point. Jeff and Ken had 1030 points followed closely by Norm Liversidge, Shaylene, Jim Carpenter and Dick Sherman all with scores in the 900 point range. In the first match of round three Ken and Jeff stayed hot flying each other to a two cut apiece draw in a very exciting match. Dick Sherman also used round three to jump into the hunt with a two cut win over Jim Carpenter.  Going into the final round Jeff and Ken had 1645 points, Dick had 1635 points with Norm close at 1450 points. The final two matches would decide it. In the first of these matches Jeff and Jim flew to a one cut apiece draw. In the final Ken and Dick faced off. Lots of action but no cuts until the final minute when Ken got one near the buzzer to earn both the match and contest win. The final order of finish was Ken (2265pts), Jeff (2155pts), Dick (1935pts),and Norm (1860pts). Shaylene Vader finished sixth overall, with 1630 points, taking home the Sportsman gold in the process.
