OCTOBER 10, 2004 – LEOMINSTER, MA – Ten contestants were on hand to participate in this annual event. The weather conditions were great, sunny and seasonably warm. This was a great October day, a great day for combat.

At the end of round one, Neil Simpson had the lead posting an 830 point, three cut win. Mark Rudner, Lloyd Seymour, Dick Sherman and Joe Fustolo were just off that pace posting 620 point wins of their own. In the first match of round two Neil Simpson got past Mark Rudner with a 520 point win. In the next match Lloyd Seymour just got past young Brian Seymour with a one cut win. Round two also saw Dick Sherman and Joe Fustolo stay in the hunt posting scores in the 500 point range. Jeff Vader also jumped into contention with a three cut round two win. The first match of round three saw Lloyd Seymour and Neil Simpson fly to a one cut apiece draw, lots of action in this one. Next, Mark Rudner earned a two cut win over Joe Fustolo followed by match that saw Jeff Vader get past Brian Seymour with a one cut win. Meanwhile Dick Sherman moved into range posting a round three 830 point win. Going into round four Neil had 1860 points followed by Lloyd and Jeff with 1750 points apiece. Dick with 1540 points, Mark with 1445 points and Joe with 1440 points were all within range. Early in round four Ken Hargreaves posted a three cut win to earn the clubhouse lead. Later in the round, despite a mid air with Joe, Dick managed to match Ken’s score. In the semi final Mark and Lloyd waged war, however, a mid air late in the flight hurt both their cumulative scores. In the final match Neil earned a one cut win over Jeff to secure the contest win. The final order of finish was Neil (2480pts), Jeff (2050pts), Lloyd (1950pts) with Dick and Ken at 1840 points. The sportsman division winner was Brian Seymour turning in a four round cumulative total of 1630 points.

Thanks go out to Lloyd Seymour who promoted and CD’ed this annual event. Also a special Thank You to Lloyd’s wife, Cheryl, who fed us at day’s end, great spread, and then sent every participant home with a homemade apple pie. Thank You Cheryl, you humble us with your generosity.
