JUNE 26, 2005 - EASTHAMPTON, MA – Twelve contestants attended the second annual Len Minick Memorial Combat Challenge held in tribute to and in memory of our good friend and fellow competitor. It was the best attended contest of the season despite temperatures in the high nineties.

Round one saw Jeff Vader and Paul Kubek get off to the best starts posting 830 point wins. In the first match of round two Paul stayed hot earning a one cut win over Jeff. Meanwhile Dana Lord climed into contention with a round two 830 point win. At the halfway point it was Paul (1350pts), Dana(1130pts), Jeff(1030pts), Neil Simpson (1030pts), Brian Stas (1025pts) and Miss Shaylene Vader (1020pts). In the first match of round three Paul and Dana mid-aired early hurting both their cumulative scores. Neil then climbed into the lead with a two cuts to one win over Jeff Vader. Joe Fustolo and Brian Stas also climbed into contention with good round three wins of their own. In round four Jeff and Dana as well as Joe and Paul flew to one cut apiece draws. In the final match Neil earned a one cut win over Brian. The final order of finish was Neil (2375pts), Paul (1960pts), Brian (1950pts) and Joe (1850pts). Shaylene Vader flew well all day and earned the Sportsman Division win.
