NOVEMBER 7, 2009-FRANKLIN, NH - Six contestants were on hand for the oft postponed Fall Finale Combat Tournament originally scheduled at Boynton Park in Worcester, Massachusetts for October 18th. Rain and Snow caused the original postponement and then even heavier rain, a week later, caused the the date to be moved again, this time to November seventh, at an alternative location in Franklin, NH. Six boys of summer, with slightly cold extremities, showed up on a very cool morning to draw down the curtain on the 2009 season. The rising temperature, buoyed by a warm sun and the lack of significant wind, soon turned this day into a comfortable one, with the temperatures rising to the low fifties.

Brian Stas got out of the gate quickly with a 725 point win. Jeff Vader and Neil Simpson were just off Brian’s pace with 620 point wins of their own. Round two saw Brian and Neil fly to a 410 point draw while Jeff got an airtime win over Jake Vader. Jeff, Brian and Neil were all closely bunched going into round three. Jeff and Brian waged war to start round theee with Jeff earning a two cut to one win in a very well flown match. Next, Neil flew his tail feathers off to get past Jake with a two cut win. Going into the final round it was Jeff at 1865points, Neil at 1755 points and Brian at 1535 points. In the semi-final Brian got past Chris Sarnowski with a one cut win to take the clubhouse lead. In the final Neil and Jeff faced off. Lots of good action early with Neil leading with one cut when a mid air ended things. When the scores were tabulated Brian was first, Jeff second and Neil third. Jake Vader who finished fourth overall took home the sportman win.
